Also, did another one of Bunker Bay, not my usual sort of style, but worth throwing up anyway.

South West WA Trip

November 25th, 2009 Stephen No comments

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, just finished Uni exams and followed that by a 7-day trip in Western Australia’s South West Region. This was my first time properly taking a trip stopping at places to take photos, and I was very glad to have Levi and his girlfriend along for the ride.

Our plan was to have 3 nights in Busselton, 1 in Pemberton and finish off with 2 in Albany. In the end we managed to travel 2250km+ and stop off at some fantastic places. Keep an eye out over the next few weeks as I get more shots up.

Here’s a couple from Bunker Bay (click on images for full-view).

WA Baseball – Round 6 – Giants v Swans

October 26th, 2009 Stephen No comments

Sunday saw the Wanneroo Giants take on Swan Districts at their Mateljan Park home ground. It was almost a one-sided match in which the Giants made an impression the first inning with a 2 run home-run leading to a 11-4 victory.

This match also gave me another opportunity to test out the Canon 7D. I can now confidently say that I love this camera, it is an amazing piece of kit. The biggest improvement is it’s very quick focusing system, I was constantly blown away at how quickly and accurately it would lock onto its target. I do not regret grabbing this camera at all.

WASCC – Drift Practice

October 25th, 2009 Stephen No comments

Got to experiment with the Canon 7D the other night at Barbagallo Raceway, unfortunately is was in very poor conditions. The practice was delayed so by the time the cars were on the track it was far too dark. As a result I had to shoot wide open (on a 300 F4L IS) at max ISO. A lot didn’t turn out, but I was quite surprised at how many did, especially given the conditions.

At long last, after over a month without a camera I finally get a call to say my 7D had arrived.

I’m looking forward to giving it a proper workout on the weekend, watch this space.

Couple sample/test shots below.
